Day 1

Sabaidee! Namaste! BonJou!, Ni Hao! Hello!

I’ve been asked several times by friends to write or blog about the things I’ve been doing.  Well, here it is.  I think it may tke some trial and error to get this down, but it’s a start.  I’m currently in Luang Prabang Laos working as a pediatrician with “Friends without Borders” a ngo (non-governmental organization) that has joined with the Lao government in helping to establish a children’s hospital here in Luang Prabang.  I am a week into 5 as a volunteer doctor doing inpatient and outpatient care.  The hours have been busy and long, but it’s been great working with docs, nurses, staff from Australia, UK, Spain, Canada, and of course Laos.  I’ll try to pass along some of my thoughts about this and other things that happen as time goes on.

Oh, and the name “It’s About Time”…… has all sorts of meaning here…..It’s about time I did this, it’s about the time I spend here (and other places), it’s about the time we live in, it’s about time to finish the 2016 US elections (happening today), etc.  I hope you find at least some of it interesting.  I don’t see this as being a radical or confrontational commentary, but you may at times disagree wth me or question my sanity.  That’s OK with me, but I hope you’ll keep an open mind.  I’ll always try to listen to your opinions no matter what.

Thanks for finding me, its about time to begin………
